Residential Building Inspector - Town of Churchbridge

The Town of Churchbridge is accepting applications for a residential building inspector. The successful applicant must have a Class 1 Building Officials License, and work as an independent contractor on a call-out basis, as needed and authorized by the Town. Applications must include: qualifications, past related work experience, all anticipated fees including travel and inspection fees, and expectations of the Town.

Supervisor, Residential Inspection - Regina, SK

The City of Regina is embarking on a process which will see us change we way we provide residential inspection services to residents, builders and contractors. To facilitate and champion this significant change, we are seeking an experienced and professional Building Official who can take the reins and lead the team through the process. A true leader, you will provide guidance and advice to a staff of inspectors while exercising openness, patience and accountability. One of the key responsibilities for this role will be to build and foster relationships with external builders and contractors as we work to create a process that is consistent, timely and effective.

Day-to-day responsibilities will be to provide effective oversight, supervision and leadership to a staff of ten Building Officials. This includes assigning duties, providing direction, ongoing mentorship and developing a performance review process. As the Supervisor, you will be accountable for ensuring that inspection reports, Orders to Comply and Stop Work Orders issued by your staff meet acceptable standards. You will take part in managing customer service initiatives which may include reviewing and implementing process improvements.

Our ideal candidate is a strong people leader with a robust background in building construction and the National Building Code. You possess a Diploma in Architectural Technology or a Journeyperson Carpentry trade ticket (or educational equivalent) as well as the ability to obtain a Building Officials Class II license within one year of your start date. Your five years of extensive experience working with, adhering to and interpreting the National Building Code and conducting residential inspections combined with previous supervisory and leadership roles will have prepared you to take on this unique challenge.
